At SecondMuse, Jon Romine helped shape the future of inclusive, resilient economies in which all people and communities contribute to and benefit from, ensuring they bounce back from hardship.
Jon helped new businesses grow by creating local plans and building support networks around them in the early stages. His work blended innovative programming – such as hackathons, incubators, and accelerators – with capital access strategies and coalition-building to catalyze long-term economic vitality in regions where these resources did not previously exist.
For example, Jon led the design and implementation of a three-year community-sourced incubator in Fort Myers, Florida, fostering innovation and entrepreneurial growth with a focus on scaling small businesses through local enterprise and nonprofit support.
In Battle Creek, Michigan, he managed a $3.4 million W.K. Kellogg Foundation grant and the team that expanded access to capital and support for over 100 entrepreneurs. He contributed strategic guidance to Black Tech Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, supporting the revitalization of Black Wall Street through a black-led innovation economy.
Jon also operationalized Movember’s “Rooted and Rising Collective,” a social impact accelerator empowering black men to build sustainable businesses and amplify mental health narratives through content creation.
